MEDIA ADVISORY: Highway of Heroes Tree Campaign Expanding in Durham Region

TORONTO, ON – In collaboration with Tree Canada and U-Haul, the Highway of Heroes Tree Campaign recently planted 500 trees at Westney Rd. in Ajax. The planting is part of the Campaign’s living legacy honouring the 117,000 Canadians that served during times of conflict since Confederation and including the War of 1812. These trees honour 500 of the 117,000 people who paid the ultimate sacrifice through their service.

On Monday, October 4th, representatives from both Tree Canada and U-Haul will be joined by local dignitaries for a site visit and photo opportunity.
